af·fec·ta·tion
The behavior, speech, or writing that is artificial and designed to impress.
Also a new band collaboration of Bill Engel, Dan Chopin, Dave Torretta and Dennis (the drummer). This group has been working toward some live performances scheduled in May at local clubs in St. Louis (to be announced) and put on a full live performance this past Sunday at Studio58. Over 30+ friends and family of the band gathered at Studio58 to hear what the group has been working on. I don’t have a list of their songs, but I can tell you it is all original stuff, written by the band members themselves. You’ll be hearing more about them as they draw closer to their scheduled appearance dates.
From our perspective, the band and their guests could not have been more gracious and pleasant for us to host. Everyone was polite and considerate of our new space and treated us well. For that, we are very appreciative. It is getting easier for us to do these kinds of events, and we are finding out that most everyone we have had in our space, either player or listener, has been kind and considerate.
As time goes on and we become more accustomed to hosting events, we will edge our doors open to more events and inviting more new guests to join us. For now, we are happy the Affectations are set and ready to entertain and put on their show. We wish them well and a great show.
They are designed to impress!
